Embark on a memorable pilgrimage along Galicia’s rugged Atlantic coast with The Camino Inglés and Ruta do Mar, two historic Camino de Santiago routes that combine scenic beauty, cultural richness, and the timeless thrill of walking in the footsteps of centuries of pilgrims.

This essential guidebook, authored by Dave Whitson and Laura Perazzoli, provides detailed stage descriptions, clear 1:100,000 mapping with larger-scale urban maps, and practical planning advice to help walkers and pilgrims tackle these classic Spanish Camino routes with confidence.

The Camino Inglés typically takes around one week to complete and is suitable for most walkers with a decent fitness level. The Ruta do Mar connects the Camino del Norte and Camino Inglés along the coast, offering a challenging walk with less well-marked sections.

• Detailed descriptions of the classic 116km (72 mile) Camino Inglés from Ferrol to Santiago de Compostela are included, plus an alternate 73km route starting at A Coruña to Hospital de Bruma and on to Santiago
• The newly designated pilgrim route Ruta do Mar (also known as the Camino do Mar, 190km (118 mile)) provides a coastal link from Ribadeo between the Camino del Norte and the Camino Inglés and is presented in 7 stages of 16–36km each, offering an opportunity to be a trailblazing pilgrim, away from the crowds
• An overview of walking on from Santiago to ‘the end of the world’ at Finisterre (Camino Finisterre extension) is provided for those looking to extend their pilgrimage to the Atlantic coast
• Downloadable GPX files are available for both routes as a digital navigation alternative for your Spanish pilgrim adventure
• Practical advice covers accommodation (pilgrim lodgings like albergues) and facilities, as well as how to get your pilgrim passport

Whether you’re walking the classic Camino Inglés in a week, extending your journey along the dramatic coastal Ruta do Mar, or continuing from Santiago to Finisterre, this guidebook equips you with the route knowledge, maps and practical information you need.
